Mail Merge Query Bug?

When running a mail merge for three accounts (4483, 73085, 77653) in Fundraising the query builder adds: And Members.Code In (Select Code From  Members Where  FieldInSub 1=1 And Code In (4483, 73085, 77653))

This takes several minutes to complete.

If the code is rewritten as:  And Members.Code In (4483, 73085, 77653)

it finishes in a few seconds.

Can this please be changed?

There is multiple reasons for the way query is built. It will not always make the fastest query as it has to take in consideration all different places and reports the query is supposed to work.

Query builder is the most complex part of the software in order to make it work for everyone in such an easy way. We do provide the code for the power user and you are welcome to update it manually each time.

I don't fully understand. Add list to query uses the method I asked for when it builds the query. As it is right now, it is very hard for us to use the mail merge feature at all. The non-technical people I have who are using the mail merge feature are not terribly comfortable editing sql.

Lists we control differently and keep track of the query. We can make a feature for you as a setting, but the issue is when it will not work it will be hard to figure out that this is the reason.
